Privacy Policy — SkinBrief

In short: SkinBrief has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data. Your device sends your coordinates to a weather service to fetch the local forecast, and to Apple's geocoding service to turn those coordinates into the city name shown in the app. That is the only data that leaves your phone, and neither request is linked to your identity.

1. Who we are

SkinBrief is published by Vyrra, operated by Hadeel Ahmed, Universitätsstraße 114, 44799 Bochum, Germany ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for any processing described in this policy. You can reach us at support@vyrra.app.

2. What SkinBrief does

SkinBrief provides a daily skincare briefing based on current weather conditions (such as UV index, humidity, temperature, and wind speed) at your location. To do this, the app needs to know where you are and what the weather is there.

3. Data we process

3.1 Location data

With your permission, SkinBrief accesses your device's location to determine the coordinates for which weather data should be fetched. Your coordinates are:

used on your device to request weather data from our weather provider (see section 4);
used on your device to request a city name from Apple's geocoding service, so the app can display where you are;
never stored on our servers — we do not operate any servers that receive your data;
never linked to your name, email address, or any other identifier, because SkinBrief has no accounts and collects no identifiers.

You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Without location access, SkinBrief cannot fetch local weather and its core function will not work.

3.2 Data stored on your device only

SkinBrief stores the following data locally on your device, and only there:

a cached copy of the most recently fetched weather data and briefing, so the app works offline.

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

3.3 What we do not collect

No account or registration data — SkinBrief has no sign-up.
No analytics or usage tracking.
No advertising identifiers, and no ads.
No health data. Your briefings are derived from weather conditions, not from information about your body or skin.
No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.

4. Third-party services

Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com)	Provides the weather forecast for your area	Your device sends your geographic coordinates and a standard web request (which technically includes your IP address) directly to Open-Meteo's servers. Open-Meteo states that it does not use this data to identify users. See the Open-Meteo terms and privacy information.
Apple (App Store, iOS)	App distribution, operating system services, and reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a city name for display)	Apple may process data in connection with your App Store account and device as described in Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive personal data from Apple about you.

5. Legal basis (GDPR)

Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, our legal basis for the processing described above is:

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract): processing your coordinates to fetch weather data is necessary to provide the app's core function that you request.
Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent): access to your device location occurs only after you grant the iOS location permission, which you may withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Data retention

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. The cached weather data lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app. Requests to Open-Meteo are handled under their own retention practices.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Germany, the data protection authority of your federal state). Because we do not hold any personal data about you, most of these rights can be exercised directly by managing or deleting the app on your device. 8. Children

SkinBrief is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly process personal data of children. The app collects no personal data from any user.

9. Not medical advice

SkinBrief provides general skincare information based on weather conditions. It is not medical or dermatological advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you have concerns about your skin, please consult a qualified professional.

10. This website

vyrra.app is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit it, Cloudflare technically processes your IP address as necessary to deliver the pages and to protect the site against abuse; our legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website). We do not access or store this data ourselves. Details are in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads all resources — including fonts — from our own domain, so no third party receives your data when you visit.

11. Changes to this policy

If a future version of SkinBrief changes how data is handled — for example, by adding privacy-preserving crash reporting or analytics — we will update this policy before the change takes effect and indicate the new effective date at the top of this page.
